Araeya rolled over in her sleep. Suddenly she was awake. She sighed, then looked down. With a soft yelp, she squirmed backwards, but was stopped as a sharp pain ran up the length of her left leg, and up her spine. On the front of her covers was a large blood stain. She threw off the thin sheet, and gasped; her thigh was chained to the ground, the shackle biting through the skin, making her bleed. She screamed.
Araeya woke at the sound of herself screaming. She immediately looked at her covers. Nothing. She sighed greatfuly, and sat up. A familiar pain shot up her leg. She lifted the covers, and touched her leg gingerly. It hurt, as though there was a bruise, but there was no mark. And oddly, it was in the same place as the shackle had been in her dream.
