Araeya sat on a warm stone, eyes unfocused, staring off into space. She was thinking about Will. Will who had been killed by Snowwalker. Will who had loved her. Will who had always understood her.
Araeya's eyes filled with tears as she remembered his soft, mousy brown hair. His warm touch. His cool blue eyes searching her's...
She lightly touched the necklace around her neck. It was a gift from Will for her 12th birthday. The day before he was killed. May 20th. On the silver chain hung a small clear heart pendant than showed a scene when she looked through it. A scene of her at eight years old. She had found a small secluded clearing and was dancing around, pretending to be a princess.

She turned sharply in surprise. When she saw it was only Aislinn, she sighed sadly. "I'm just thinking about my friend Will. He got killed by a Snowwalker. Well, the only Snowwalker alive." She fingered her necklace then asked, "You wanna go hunting? I have a dragon morph."

"I'm sorry. I've heard he was great. Okay. I'll let you morph." Aislinn said and stepped a few steps backwards.

Araeya stood up and gracefully morphed into a lithe brown dragon. "Ok, I'm ready." she said and took off lightly.

"I don't eat Tigeras or Blasthorns, since I have those morphs, but Flarebacks are ok."

"Flarebacks it is." Aislinn smiled.
